VINIRMA Consulting is currently looking for Senior System Administrator (Windows & VMWare)
for one of its clients which is a Business Consulting, IT Solutions and Services company in Qatar with the following terms and conditions.
The System Administrator/Engineer is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. Participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
Ensure that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values.
Assist project teams with technical issues in the Initiation and Planning phases of our standard Project Management Methodology.
Manage Initiation, Planning, design, implementation and maintenance phases of Internal Infrastructure related projects. Supervise team of System Administrators
Detailed Roles and Responsibilities:
Administration of Bank’s computer systems (Windows and Virtual environment) to ensure uninterrupted availability to support Bank’s functions.
Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, services, and settings, directories in accordance with standards and project /operational requirements along with virtual infrastructure.
Ensuring maintenance of documentation for managing systems including their recovery in the case of disasters.
Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
Diagnosing and resolving system related incidents and problems.
Assist IT Management in planning and budgeting for Bank’s computer systems.
Assist Infrastructure Manager in capacity planning and management, configuration management, change management and release management.
Reporting periodically to Infrastructure Manager on status of support issues being handled by User Support team.
Escalation of support issues where required as per defined procedures
Engineering of System Administrator related solutions for various project and operational needs.
Contribute to system standards.
Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage bank’s resources and provide economies of scale
Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes.
Apply security standards as per IT Security team.
Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues
Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies
Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary as per IT Security.
Upgrade and configure system software that supports infrastructure applications or Asset Management applications per project or operational needs.
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment
Applying security standards on cloud infrastructure.
Migration of legacy infrastructure to virtualized infrastructure.
Management of Microsoft applications such as Active directory, Exchange Online, Office 365, MS SQL , IIS , Windows Servers, ADFS , System Center and related components.
Managing converged infrastructure.
Support and manage the PKI solution of the environment.
COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field of study
Microsoft and VMware Certified preferred
5-7 years relevant experience in supporting multi-operating systems production environment including Converged Infrastructure, VMware and Microsoft.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft systems and applications
Must be a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)
Strong skills in administering computer systems deployed in converged infrastructure.
Good understanding of networking concepts, data storage and communications
Ability to learn new technologies and assimilate new information quickly
Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information
Must have good hands-on systems experience and implementation experience in large production-critical environment, preferably covering Cisco UCS, VMware, Microsoft products (AD, DNS, DHCP, and System Center), Office 365 and DELLEMC systems.
Ability to analyze system related issues and resolve them within defined SLA terms
Ability to work under pressure and respond to situations 24x7 basis
Project delivery experience, knowledge and problem solving skills in complex projects like – Infrastructure transformation and Data Center migrations.
Evidence of taking a personal level of ownership that has seen you overstepping the mark in resolving issues and supporting clients others in solving their issues.
Evidence of a well-developed ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats at all levels within client organizations.
Evidence of comfort with technology concepts and solutions across the spectrum of delivery.
