Our client, a leading technology group with a great presence in the financial industry globally, is looking for a Security Regulatory Advocate in bringing their innovative technology platform to Hong Kong’s local regulatory bodies. The successful candidate will be working with senior leaders across the industry as well as key regulatory bodies. It is a high-profile role to work across the Hong Kong Technology and Financial industry.

Responsibilities:
– Act as a key domain expert in the Cybersecurity and Risk space in facing technology leaders, auditors, and regulators in Hong Kong.
– Maintain a high level of regulatory understanding in Hong Kong and the APAC region which would impact the technology and cybersecurity front.
– Build long-term, trusted relationships with regulators in Hong Kong.
– Collaborate with global and regional technology risk officers across technology and non-technology groups such as legal & compliance, operational risk, and audit.
– Provide oversight and co-ordination of risk activities, issues/action plans arising from the audits, self-assessments, and other internal risk-related assessment processes
– Assessment of IT risks exposures. Conducting regulatory requested periodic technology self-assessment in Hong Kong.
– Support the implementation and maintenance of technology policies and standards. Ensure compliance with industry-wide technology risk standards
– Involvement in evaluating technology & data regulatory disclosure incidents.
– Reviewing the local market guidelines and their English translations.

Required skills/experience:
– Strong understanding of financial industry businesses and technology risk regulations and guidelines in Asia
– 10+ years of relevant Technology Risk, regulatory risk, and Information Security experience. Working experience in risk assessment methodologies, internal controls, and industry technology risk management frameworks.
– Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
– Experience working directly with financial regulatory bodies, government officials, and boards of directors on policy-related issues.
– Excellent influencing and negotiation skills
– Excellent written communication skills in both English and Chinese (Cantonese) are a must; Able to draft comprehensive and accurate documentation for appropriate audiences.
– Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple demands and changing priorities. Detail oriented.
– A proven track record in global and regional team projects. Strong project management skills
