Position Title : Welding QC Inspector
Location : Saudi Arabia
Salary : 6000- 8000/month
Certification - ARAMCO Approval, ISO , CBT
Experience- 8 -15 years
Mandatory Requirements:
Proven experience as a Welding QC Inspector or similar role with expertise in welding processes, codes, and industry standards, particularly those from ASME, AWS, and API. Strong knowledge of Saudi Arabian welding codes and regulations.
Proficient in welding methods like SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, and SAW, and experienced with materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloys. Skilled in non-destructive testing (NDT) methods including VT, UT, RT, MPI, and DPT.
Certified in welding inspection (e.g., CSWIP, AWS-CWI) preferred. Strong understanding of welding inspection tools, welding metallurgy, and welding-related tests (e.g., tensile, hardness, bend, impact). Experienced in reviewing welding procedures and welder qualifications.
Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and welding specifications. Knowledge of safety practices, PPE, and hazardous materials handling. Proficient in welding inspection software and tools.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience. Fluency in English and Arabic required. Ability to travel for inspections. Familiar with construction industry requirements in Saudi Arabia, including sectors like oil and gas and petrochemicals.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect and evaluate welded joints, assemblies, and components to ensure compliance with approved welding procedures, design specifications, and industry standards.
Review and verify welding procedures (WPS), welder qualifications, and welding documentation to ensure they align with project requirements and local codes.
Perform visual inspections (VT) and other non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as ultrasonic testing (UT), radiographic testing (RT), magnetic particle inspection (MPI), and dye penetrant testing (DPT) to evaluate weld integrity.
Ensure that all welding processes and techniques are in accordance with established quality control standards and regulatory requirements.
Monitor and control welding parameters during welding operations (e.g., heat, voltage, amperage) to ensure consistent and high-quality welds.
Verify that materials, equipment, and consumables used for welding meet the required specifications and quality standards.
Conduct inspections during the fabrication, installation, and repair of welded structures, pipes, tanks, and vessels to ensure adherence to quality standards and code requirements.
Review project specifications, drawings, and client requirements to ensure welds are performed in accordance with design requirements.
Record and document all welding inspections, test results, and non-conformance reports (NCRs) accurately and in compliance with company and client standards.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and supervisors to identify and resolve welding-related issues during construction and fabrication.
Ensure that welders are properly trained, qualified, and follow correct procedures to maintain welding quality and safety.
Perform destructive testing (e.g., tensile, bend, or impact testing) on welded samples to assess material properties and weld strength when required.
Identify and report any defects, discrepancies, or deviations in welding quality, and ensure corrective actions are taken to resolve issues promptly.
Prepare and issue inspection reports, including findings, recommendations, and corrective actions to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Conduct final inspections on completed welds and review documentation to ensure all requirements are met before project handover.
Review and enforce welding safety practices and ensure welders are using the correct personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety protocols.
Perform root cause analysis for welding defects or failures and suggest preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
Provide technical support and recommendations for welding-related issues during fabrication and construction phases.
Stay current on the latest welding technologies, industry standards, and regulatory changes to continuously improve quality control practices.
Participate in audits, inspections, and quality assurance programs to ensure that welding processes meet client and regulatory requirements.
