Key Responsibilities
· Deliver meals to patients in a timely and courteous manner.
· Assist patients in making menu selections based on dietary requirements and preferences.
· Ensure that meal trays are set up attractively and correctly.
· Act as a liaison between patients and the catering department to relay special requests or concerns.
· Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding patient dietary needs and restrictions.
· Check meal trays for accuracy and presentation before delivery.
· Ensure that all meals comply with dietary restrictions and nutritional guidelines.
· Address and resolve any issues or complaints from patients regarding meal service.
· Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the meal service area.
· Follow all hospital policies and procedures related to food safety and infection control.
· Ensure that all food handling and storage practices comply with health and safety regulations.
· Record meal orders and any special dietary requirements accurately.
· Keep accurate records of patient meal deliveries and any feedback received.
· Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies as needed.
Requirements
·Matric or equivalent.
· Certificate in hospitality, food service, or a related field is a plus.
· Previous experience in a food service or customer service role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
· Experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment is advantageous.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure.
· Strong organizational and time-management skills.
· Attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality service.
· Ability to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
· Physical ability to stand for long periods and carry meal trays.
