An international financial institution is seeking a seasoned Data Scientist to transform complex data into actionable business insights. You’ll work across risk, AML detection, sales and marketing to define and deploy AI/ML solutions, build advanced BI reports, and guide strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with risk, compliance, sales, and marketing teams to identify high-impact use cases and translate business needs into data-driven solutions.
- Design, develop, and implement AI/ML models (e.g., NLP pipelines, Transformer architectures, LSTM networks, clustering, anomaly detection, gradient boosting) to address fraud, AML detection, customer segmentation, and revenue optimization.
- Architect end-to-end data workflows on large, structured, and unstructured data sets, ensuring data quality, governance, and scalability.
- Build dynamic dashboards and reports using Power BI (or equivalent) to visualize model outputs, KPIs, and trend analyses for senior stakeholders.
- Perform exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and A/B testing to validate hypotheses and quantify business impact.
- Mentor junior analysts and drive best practices in coding (Python, SQL), model validation, and deployment.
- Continuously research emerging AI/ML methodologies and integrate them into proofs-of-concept for future business opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience delivering business insights through data science in a financial services environment.
- Proven track record in developing and deploying models for risk management, AML/fraud detection, and sales or marketing analytics.
- Deep hands-on expertise in: Natural Language Processing: Transformer models (BERT, GPT), LSTM | Unsupervised learning: K-Means clustering, Isolation Forest | Ensemble & tree-based methods: Random Forest, Gradient Boosting Machines.
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, with familiarity in ML libraries (scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch).
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Databricks).
- Proficiency in Power BI or equivalent BI tools for dashboarding and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex findings to non-technical audiences and driving stakeholder alignment.
