You will be the guardian of the core Linux platforms that power high-frequency trading and critical banking operations, where every millisecond and every transaction counts. The Opportunity: Engineer a Resilient Financial Core
As a key member of the Core Engineering team, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of the bank's most critical Linux systems. You will move beyond "keeping the lights on" and actively engineer solutions that enhance performance, automate operations, and guarantee uptime. You'll be the go-to expert for complex problem-solving, ensuring the stability of systems that handle billions of dollars in daily transactions.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Architect & Optimize: Design, deploy, and fine-tune a large-scale Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environment across both bare-metal (HPE) and virtualized platforms.
- Automate Everything: Champion a "Configuration as Code" mindset. Leverage Ansible to automate server provisioning, patching, and compliance. Develop robust scripts in Python, Shell, and Perl to streamline complex workflows and eliminate manual toil.
- Guarantee High Availability: Take ownership of the HA/DR framework. Manage and support Veritas Cluster Server (VCS) and Veritas Storage Foundation (VSF) to ensure seamless failover for critical applications.
- Be the Final Line of Defense: Act as the ultimate escalation point for complex incidents, performing root cause analysis (RCA) on performance bottlenecks, kernel-level issues, and system crashes.
- Drive Strategic Projects: Lead and contribute to major infrastructure initiatives, including hardware refreshes, data center migrations, and the adoption of new technologies.
Your Technical DNA: What You Bring to the Table
We are looking for a true subject matter expert with a proven track record in high-pressure, enterprise environments.
- Linux Mastery: 8+ years of deep, hands-on experience as a Linux Administrator, with an expert-level command of Red Hat (RHEL). You know the kernel inside and out and are comfortable with performance tuning (sysctl, tuned) and advanced troubleshooting (strace, perf).
- Automation Artisan: You think in playbooks, not command lines. You have demonstrable proficiency with Ansible for large-scale configuration management. Your scripting skills in Python and Shell are sharp, and you're not afraid to dive into legacy Perl code when needed.
- High-Availability Champion: You possess critical, hands-on experience designing and managing resilient systems with Veritas Cluster and Veritas Storage Foundation. You understand concepts like service groups, heartbeats, and split-brain prevention intimately.
- Hardware & Virtualization Fluency: Solid experience with server commissioning on enterprise hardware, particularly HPE architectures. You are equally comfortable in virtual environments like VMware.
- Enterprise Ecosystem Experience: You've worked within a structured, process-driven environment and are familiar with tools like ServiceNow (ITSM), CyberArk (PAM), Control-M (Workload Automation), and enterprise monitoring solutions (e.g., SCOM, Prometheus).
- Financial Services Mindset: You are calm under pressure, communicate with precision, and have an unwavering commitment to stability and security.
