Pinpoint Asia is exclusively partnering with a leading Global Quantitative & Systematic Investment Manager to find a Lead Regulatory Technology Engineer for their Hong Kong office.
This is a rare opportunity to join a newly formed, high-growth team. You will not just be "maintaining systems"—you will be the senior technical anchor for the Asia region, responsible for designing and building the "Version 1.0" of their regional regulatory reporting architecture.
Our client is looking for a seasoned technologist (10+ years) who combines elite Python engineering skills with the ability to manage complex stakeholders independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect & Build: Design frameworks from scratch to handle complex regulatory reporting (HKMA, ASIC, etc.) and data validation pipelines.
- Automation Strategy: Lead the engineering of automation solutions (using Python & RPA tools) to modernize compliance workflows and reduce manual intervention.
- Stakeholder Leadership: Act as the primary technical point of contact for Asia. You will bridge the gap between the Global Compliance team, Business stakeholders, and IT, translating complex regulations into technical reality.
- Data Integrity: Own the data quality for financial derivative products, ensuring the firm meets its strict regulatory obligations.
- Autonomy: Operate independently in Hong Kong while collaborating with the global management team in London.
The Candidate We Need
- Seniority: 10+ years of hands-on software development experience. You are a "Builder" who can take a project from concept to deployment without hand-holding.
- Technical Stack:
-- Python: Expert-level proficiency is essential.
-- Database: Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
-- Automation: Experience implementing RPA (Robotic Process Automation) or custom automation tools to solve business inefficiencies.
- Domain Knowledge: Solid understanding of Financial Derivatives (Options, Swaps, Futures). You understand the trade lifecycle and the data associated with it.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication and stakeholder management are critical. You must be comfortable pushing back on requirements and explaining technical risks to non-technical compliance officers.
