The Opportunity
Pinpoint Asia is partnering with a premier Life Insurance organization to lead a landmark transformation program. We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to steer a high-stakes Policy Administration System (PAS) Migration and Cloud Infrastructure overhaul.
This is not a "business as usual" role. You will be operating at the intersection of complex legacy technology, modern cloud architecture, and critical business product strategy. You will be the bridge between the IT Division, Actuarial/Product teams, and external vendors, delivering a system that will power the business for the next decade.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Leadership: Lead the end-to-end project lifecycle for the PAS migration, from requirement analysis and gap assessment to data migration, parallel runs, and Go-Live.
- Bridging IT & Business: Act as the primary translator between Technical Architects (Cloud/Infrastructure) and Business Stakeholders (Product, Claims, Underwriting). Ensure technical solutions align with commercial product configurations.
- Cloud Infrastructure Migration: oversee the infrastructure component of the program, ensuring a secure and compliant transition of data and applications from legacy on-premise mainframes to a modern Cloud environment (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Data Migration Strategy: Manage complex data ETL strategies, ensuring data integrity, cleansing, and accurate mapping from legacy systems to the new target operating model.
- Vendor & SI Management: Manage relationships with major software vendors and System Integrators, ensuring strict adherence to SLAs, timelines, and budget.
- Risk & Governance: proactively identify "showstopper" risks (e.g., calculation discrepancies, compliance gaps under IFRS 17) and manage the "Parallel Run" validation phase.
The Ideal Candidate
- Domain Expertise: 8-12+ years of Project Management experience, with a specific, proven track record in Life Insurance. You must understand the lifecycle of a life insurance policy.
-Migration Experience: Direct experience leading large-scale PAS Migrations (e.g., moving to Oracle OIPA, Guidewire, eBao, or proprietary systems). You understand the pain points of data reconciliation and legacy decoupling.
- Technical Fluency: While not necessarily a coder, you have strong knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure (IaaS/PaaS) and integration patterns (APIs, Microservices, Batch processing).
- Stakeholder Mastery: Demonstrated ability to manage C-level stakeholders and navigate conflicts between Product requirements and IT constraints.
- Methodology: Expert in Hybrid delivery models—blending the structure of Waterfall (for core backend validation) with the flexibility of Agile (for frontend/digital layers).
Nice to Have
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications.
- Familiarity with IFRS 17 regulatory requirements.
- Experience in regional rollouts across Asia-Pacific.
