Pinpoint Asia is partnering with a Leading Tier-1 Insurer to find a strategic Engineering Lead. This is a pivotal "Player-Coach" role within their digital engineering team, combining high-level architectural design with hands-on technical execution.
We are seeking a Backend Architecture specialist to drive a major technical evolution. You will lead the transition of complex enterprise systems from legacy structures into Cloud-Native Microservices architectures.
Key Responsibilities
- Architectural Strategy: Provide strategic technical direction for backend systems, specifically designing scalable Microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Hands-On Engineering: Actively code, establish coding standards, and drive the implementation of high-volume messaging technologies (Kafka/Solace).
- Modernization: Lead the migration of legacy applications to modern cloud platforms (AWS/Alicloud) and containerized environments (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Team Leadership: Mentor engineers, manage resource allocation, and lead recruitment efforts to build a high-performing technical squad.
- Delivery: Identify and mitigate technical risks while overseeing the delivery of Agile enterprise initiatives.
The Technical Stack
- Core: Java (Expert level), Spring Boot, Backend System Design.
- Architecture: Microservices (Essential), Event-Driven Architecture.
-Messaging: Kafka, Solace, or similar enterprise messaging brokers.
- Cloud & DevOps: AWS, Alicloud, Docker, Kubernetes.
- Database: Postgres, Oracle.
The Candidate
- Experience: 8-10 years in IT engineering and application development with a strong focus on backend systems.
- Technical DNA: Proven background in Solution/Application Architecture. You must understand system design, data flow, and integration patterns deeply.
- Messaging Expertise: Hands-on experience designing and implementing messaging platforms (Kafka or Solace) is highly preferred.
- Industry: Experience in Insurance, Banking, or Financial Services is preferred (specifically in high-volume transaction environments).
- Communication: Ability to act as a technical liaison between departments and communicate concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
