The Opportunity: Building the "AI Factory"
Pinpoint Asia is partnering with a premier financial services organization to build a dedicated AI Value Stream within their Technology Office.
They are moving beyond "Lab Experiments" and "POCs." The mandate is to industrialize AI—transforming it into a scalable, secure, and standardized platform that powers the entire enterprise business.
We are looking for a Platform Builder, not just a manager. We need a "Technologist Leader" who can architect the blueprint for the next generation of AI.
The Mandate
As the AI Platform Lead, you will look after the entire collection of AI technologies. You are the bridge between "Enterprise Architecture" (Security, Cloud, Scale) and "AI Innovation" (Models, Vectors).
- Architect the Platform: You will design the master architecture that allows the organization to spin up new AI use cases rapidly. You aren't building one app; you are building the factory that builds apps.
- Define the Standard: You will enforce the engineering approach—standardizing on LangChain for orchestration and defining how we manage Vector Databases and RAG pipelines.
- Distributed Leadership: You will manage, mentor, and align a distributed team (including Tech Leads and AI Engineers), ensuring knowledge is shared effectively across onshore and offshore squads.
- Future-Proofing: While we deliver immediate value with GenAI, you will lay the groundwork for Agentic Workflows (AI that takes action), ensuring our stack is ready for the next leap in technology.
The Ideal Candidate (The "Technologist Leader")
- You are a Builder: You likely grew up as a Solution Architect or Engineering Lead and pivoted hard into AI because you love the tech. You may be a Director now, but you can still review a Python PR and spot a security flaw or architectural bottleneck.
- Articulate & Analytical: You don't just use buzzwords. You can explain why a specific Vector strategy is necessary to a non-technical stakeholder, and you can debate token optimization with your engineers.
- System Thinker: You understand that AI is only 10% model and 90% engineering. You know how to integrate LLMs with API Gateways, Mainframes, and Frontend wrappers seamlessly.
Requirements
- Engineering DNA: 12+ years in Software Engineering or Architecture, with at least 3-4 years purely focused on Enterprise Traditional AI / GenAI.
- Stack Fluency: Deep understanding of Azure OpenAI, Python, LangChain, LangGraph and Modern Data Architectures.
- Leadership: Proven experience managing distributed/offshore teams and driving high-performance engineering cultures.
- Language: Fluency in English is mandatory; Cantonese is a strong advantage for local stakeholder management.
- Education: Computer Science or Engineering degree preferred.
