Financial Manager -POS26244
Based: Glen Anil, Durban North
Salary: R80-85,000 per month (negotiable based on experience )

We are seeking a highly analytical, commercially minded, and resilient Financial Manager (CA/SA) to oversee our clients financial operations. This role requires a strategic leader who can manage complex financial portfolios, ensure strict compliance, and drive profitability.
Frequent operational travel to the Africa countries is a core requirement of this role. Experience in heavy industries (Mining, Civil Engineering, or Heavy-Duty Equipment) will be highly advantageous in navigating the operational landscape.
Qualifications & Experience (Non-Negotiable)
Registered Chartered Accountant South Africa (CA/SA)
Minimum of 10 years of post-article experience in a commercial financial management role.
Valid passport and absolute willingness to regularly travel to remote project sites in Africa.
Direct experience working within Mining, Civil Engineering, or Heavy-Duty Equipment / Plant Hire sectors.
Proven track record managing financial operations or logistics for projects in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Familiarity with multi-currency environments and cross-border regulatory frameworks.
Ability to adapt and operate effectively in challenging, remote operational environments
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to look beyond the numbers to optimize operational efficiency.
Exceptional interpersonal skills to communicate complex financial concepts to non-financial operational managers.
Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Syspro, SAP, Sage Evolution) and advanced MS Excel.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Management Accounting
Oversee the entire accounting function, ensuring accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
Prepare, analyze, and present consolidated financial statements for local and foreign operations
Manage cash flow forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to support executive decision-making.
Operational & Cross-Border Financial Management
Manage financial risk, foreign exchange transactions, and compliance related to African operations
Conduct cost-benefit analyses on heavy equipment procurement, asset lifecycle management, and large-scale projects.
Implement robust internal controls to safeguard assets across multiple geographical locations.
Tax, Audit & Compliance
Ensure full compliance with IFRS, local tax laws (SARS), and international cross-border tax regulations/transfer pricing.
Coordinate internal and external audit processes for all corporate entities.
Manage statutory submissions, corporate governance, and risk mitigation strategies.
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to ensure high performance and accuracy.
Collaborate closely with project managers and engineers to align financial targets with operational deliverables.
