Pay Rate:
The pay rate for this job is $16- $16/ hour*
What you'll be doing as a Porter:
Passenger Greeting Welcome guests curbside and provide basic guidance
Luggage Collection Take bags from passengers, verify or attach cabin number tags, and load them onto transport carts
Sorting & Transfer Move luggage to the ship's loading area or terminal sorting zone for embarkation or disembarkation
Coordination With Crew Work with cruise staff and port agents to ensure bags reach the correct destination
Guest Assistance Provide directions, answer basic questions, and assist guests with mobility needs
Safety & Care Handle bags carefully, monitor for damaged or suspicious items, and follow port safety rules
Disembarkation Support Collect luggage placed outside staterooms, transport it to the terminal, and assist port agents during sorting

Job requirements:
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady
Physical Strength Ability to lift heavy bags repeatedly and work on your feet for long periods
Customer Service Friendly, efficient, and calm under pressure
Attention to Detail Ensuring luggage tags are correct and visible
Teamwork Work closely with port staff, stevedores, and cruise personnel
Basic Communication Clear verbal communication with guests and staff
Minimum Requirements Typically 18+, high school diploma preferred, passport often required for terminal access
