Overview of Position: The Marketing Manager is responsible for the planning and implementation of the marketing strategy for a specific market segment. This includes developing the best product mix, determining the most effective distribution channels, conducting market research, generating appropriate promotional media and developing strategic marketing plan for each target.
This position develops and controls, in coordination with the Plant Manager; Production Planning, Sales, Shipping/Receiving, the processes and procedures affecting Raw Materials, Supplies inventory, and related ERP movements and accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
Product Management

Research and implement new product & markets

Contribute to the development of appropriate branding strategies

Work with the Product Development Group to determine product design, quality and packaging standards

Conduct market research activities

Analyse market conditions and competitive products for opportunities

Assist with the management of product line trademarks, patents and intellectual property in conjunction with the Vice President Flexible Films

Determine potential vertical and horizontal product & service opportunities

Develop marketing strategies by sector for new and existing products

Understand and research existing and new geographical locations


Sales Support

Create a product/educational binder for Sales

Prepare and send promotional/sample packages for potential and/or existing customers

Plan and conduct promotional and training seminars for customers and staff


Purchasing

Directly handle divisional purchasing with materials specifications supplied by the Engineering and R&D team and Supply Chain

Establish and maintain effective supplier relationships

Participate in a proactive program of sourcing and cost reduction

Maintain up to date supplier contact records in contact management database, as well as maintain the Supplier score card process

Monitor and communicate supply pricing and related information

Issue various service Purchase Orders as required


Promotional Planning

Assist with the development of, and implement advertising and promotional campaigns

Assist with the development of appropriate advertising graphics, messages and communications

Assist with digital marketing including websites and social media account management

Provide marketing support to internal and external customers

Identify new customers and markets

Recommend supply chain requirements for each geographical location


Pricing Strategy

Maintain market based pricing levels and price lists for all products and services

Provide budgets, forecasts and long range plans for product lines

Assist with developing and maintaining sales, estimating and costing tools

Work with the marketing group to establish gross profit levels for distribution channels

Administer the Segment advertising and promotional budgets

Maintain a sound understanding of industry and competitor pricing levels

Determine discount levels and rebates

Develop prepaid shipment levels, freight policies and allowances

Establish standard terms and conditions including credit terms for segment clients

Establish sales and marketing coverage levels

Minimum Qualifications:

Number of Years of experience: Minimum Two (2)

Proven problem-solving abilities

High degree of competence in written and oral communication

Driven, self-starter with superb interpersonal skills

Independent but able to work well within a team environment

Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office Suite skills


Formal Education: University Degree in Business / Marketing or any acceptable Technical College Degree
