Position: Sous Chef
Location: North Vancouver
Our unique restaurant, slowly opening a number of franchises across North America, provides customers with a special experience immediately when they enter. We look to offer customers with sophisticated services and quality food, inevitable making them long-term consumers!
We need an energetic and vibrant Afternoon and Evening Sous Chef for our casual dinning restaurant due to our rapid expansion across Canada.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supporting the head chef or executive chef in the general running of the kitchen.
Managing the kitchen staff, including setting the rota, and handling disciplinary and HR issues in the absence of the head chef.
Leading a team of chefs in cooking and preparing meals, including checking food quality and overseeing cooking techniques.
Onboarding and training junior chefs / new employees.
Designing / helping the head chef to create food and drink menus.
Completing food hygiene documents to comply with the law and writing environmental health reports when necessary.
Deputizing for the head chef in their absence.
Ordering and managing supplies.
Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a restaurant role
Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Possessing a Red Seal Chef license or working towards one is preferred
$40,000 to $45,000 base salary
