We are currently looking for a High-Volume Production Cook to join our busy culinary team based in Mississauga, Ontario. In this position, the candidate will prepare high volumes of different food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards for a variety of customers including airline, retail chains and food services.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares high-quality food items according to standardized recipes and instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
Ensure trace-ability and food safety by tracking lot codes and temperatures. Responsible for records from items and area worked during shifts.
Practice proper labeling and ensuring product is being used FIFO.
Cleans kitchen after preparation, maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
Keeps refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat. Ensures food and supply items are stored per standards.
Operates and maintains kitchen equipment as instructed.
Assists in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
Assists in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required.
Reports needed maintenance, faulty equipment or accidents to supervisor immediately.
Attends in-service and safety meetings.
Maintains good working relationships with coworkers, customers, administrators and managers.
Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
3 years of experience in High Volume Food Production environment preferred
Skills and Knowledge:
Strong Culinary Background
Understanding of large scale production and assembly
Ability to work in a fast pace environment
Ability to lift up to 70 lb
Understanding of HACCP and basic food safety standards
Clear understanding of Hospitality and Service and the Customer Experience
Diverse/multi-cultural Interpersonal Skills
Process Oriented and Results Driven
Current in the latest food production techniques
Ability to work in temperature controlled environment
Fluent English (written & verbal)

Salary: $37,500.00 to $40,000.00 /year
